11/28/15-

Our mailboxes were broken into sometime last night or the night before.

Two sections (left & center) were broken into.
The section on the right was not broken into.
It may take up to a week to get them fixed.
Everyone can pickup their mail at the Henderson Pass post office until it is fixed.

The break-in has been reported to the police and the Post Office.

This time of year is an especially vulnerable time for this type of crime, so please be aware of this and also, make sure someone is home to accept any packages you are expecting, or designate a neighbor that can accept them for you.

Thank you, the Villas at Redland Ranch Board.

It was reported that some individuals may be walking and/or driving the neighborhood checking for unlocked cars to steal items. There was an alleged attempt early Sunday morning, June 28th.

As always, remember to lock your vehicles, remove any valuables and keep your security lights on at night.

Here are some additional tips to help keep you safe:

  1. SAPD can do an inspection of your home and property to see where you may be vulnerable.  You can call a SAPD Crime Prevention Specialist at 207-8126 or the SAFFE Unit at 207-8350.
  2. Have a home security system installed.
  3. Keep your windows and doors locked at all times.
  4. Keep your garage door closed, even during the day, or low enough so that a thief can not slip underneath.
  5. Do not leave your garage door remote controls in your car.  Thieves can break into your car, steal your remote and get into your home.
  6. Know your neighbors and look out for each other.
  7. Be aware of solicitation and people knocking on the door.  You do not have to open your door.  You can even let people know you are home, but ignore the person at the door. Most thieves will avoid confrontation.
  8. Lastly, teach your kids what to do in case of an emergency.  If they are left home, let them know how to deal with people knocking on the door, or what to do in case of an accident, fire, etc.

Please report anything suspicious to the police as well as to a Board member as soon as possible.

The purpose of these updates is to share official alerts, news, and other notifications that are relevant to your neighborhood. It’s important to note that police staff can only see their own posts and replies to these posts. They will NOT be able to access or view any information that you and your neighbors have shared on Nextdoor Villas at Redland Ranch.
